Privacy Policy
Last updated 23 September 2026
The short version: Pumpline has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Your sessions stay on your own devices and, if you turn it on, in your own private iCloud storage. We never receive your data.
What Pumpline uses, and why
Pumpline asks for two permissions. It only uses them to record and show your sessions.
- Location on Apple Watch. GPS is used to detect your attempts, measure distance and speed, and draw your runs on a map. It runs while Pumpline is open on your watch, so the GPS is ready when you start, and during a session, including when the screen is off.
- Health on Apple Watch. Pumpline reads your heart rate and active energy during a session, and saves the session to Apple Health as a workout so it counts towards your Activity rings.
You can change either permission at any time in the Settings app. Pumpline still works without Health access, but without location it can’t measure runs.
Where your data is stored
- On your devices. Your sessions, GPS tracks, gear and settings are stored inside Pumpline on your iPhone and Apple Watch.
- Between your watch and iPhone. When a session ends, your watch sends it to your paired iPhone using Apple’s direct connection between the two devices.
- In your iCloud, if you turn on sync. Pumpline can sync your data between your devices through your private iCloud database. It is linked to your Apple Account, and we cannot see or access it.
What Pumpline doesn’t do
- It doesn’t ask you to create an account.
- It doesn’t contain advertising, analytics or crash-reporting tools, or any third-party code that collects data.
- It doesn’t send your data to us or to anyone else. Apart from optional iCloud sync, which goes to Apple on your behalf, the app makes no internet connections.
- It never uses health or location data for advertising, and never sells or shares it.
Your choices
- Export your data. In the app, go to Settings → Export all data to get everything, including GPS tracks, as a file.
- Delete a session. Swipe left on it in the session list.
- Delete everything. Deleting the app removes its data from that device. To remove synced data from iCloud, go to Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Storage.
- Remove workouts from Apple Health. Do this in the Health app.
Children
Pumpline doesn’t collect personal information from anyone, including children.
